I just beat this mission for the first time, on my first try.

I used:
Koss (16)
Tahlkora (16)
Dunkoro (16)
Illu Hench
Devona
Cynn
and Derv Hench

Only one or two henchies died throughout the whole thing, thought it was easy when I was done.

Honestly, I didn't even realize there were ranger spikes or ele bombs in it. I just ran up the steps and starting beating up on the rangers. I'm a Paragon/Necro by the way, you know, just spamming Anthem of Flame and Aria of Zeal when it got tough.

There was a MM somewhere... One of the NPCs is a MM, there were tons of minions running around (which probably helped alot).

Like Curar said above, It's the spotters that are causing the seige attacks. I didn't know this right away either, but figured it out along the way. What I did to begin with was hit and run tactics. I'd run up to a group and start attacking. If the seige attacks started, I'd finish off the enemy I was working on, then I'd fall back. Of course that would cause the spotter to chase us and the seige attacks would stop while we ran. Once we got ourselves back together, we'd lay into them again and usually defeat the group on the second round of attacks.

But eventually I figured out the seige stopped when the spotter went down, so taking out the spotter became a priority.

Patience is a Virtue!

I kept searching for and doing the every quest and the last one was “The Time is Nigh”

Thanks everyone for your input.

It's kinda funny, I blew through the mission first try with no problems using my Paragon, I don't even remember if I was using heroes/hench or other players.

Then I decided to take my favorite character through, a N/E, and got cocky and got utterly destroyed. Puzzled, I tried again, and died again. Took my assassin through and easily got masters with a human group (Force Commanders don't last long 1v1 against an assassin with sustained combo chain). Finally tried once more with my Necro in a human group and had no problems.

It's all in the spike damage--use a tank with some buffs up on him to absorb the first spike, then nuke the archers and have someone run back and keep the Force Commander busy to keep him from using the siege attack.

Very helpful discussion. I forgot how much strategy is involved in this game (just started playing Nightfall after laying off Prophecies for a while). One strategy that I sometimes forget is RUN AWAY! If you are getting blasted by the bombardier or ganged by the bad guys, retreat and resurrect your henchmen. I nearly made it through with this rudimentary plan, so with the tips in this thread, I should be OK. Thanks. OBTW, can anyone recommend a good guild with a webpage and helpful members? Most of the ones in the list have no activity on their webpages.

Really, this mission is cake. All you need is 2 mm's and you'll blow through it. You'll pick up another mm about half way through, but no worries. This mission was made for mm's and there are PLENTY of bodies. There's no trouble at all keeping up max minions all the way through and you just zerg rush everybody. There really is no need for special tactics or skills. Watch Yourself may help though I guess, but I don't see that it's really needed.

I completed this mission with a lv 15 paragon, heroes and heches, no problem
didn't get the bonus though
Then I did it again for the caps, fun mission

and yea, always kill the SPOTTERS

PS I do have all the core skills and elite skills for my Heroes, so that helped a bit ^_^
